Ok perhaps there have been a few other signifiant developments since people first started playing the beautiful game at St. Andrews 600 years ago. But Corvera Golf and Country Club in the South East corner of Spain really is special.
What makes Corvera unique is that the PGA recently announced that it was backing Corvera and its sister development Roda and that Corvera would become its winter headquarters and its winter training academy and it is expected tha the course will be included in the PGA tour once it is completed.
Another factor that makes Corvera unique is the standard of hotel accomodation. Other developments may have five star hotels - though many don't - but only Corvera (and Roda) will have the first hotels that the De Vere Group has built outside the UK. The 150 bed five star hotel at Corvera and the 120 bed five star hotel at Roda and both courses will be managed by Mike Maloney who was general manager of the De Vere Belfry. Mike himself was involved in three of the Ryder Cups which were held at the Belfry.
Corvera is also outstanding in terms of quality of he accomodation units and unbeatable in terms of value for money. The resort features a range of superb properties, including apartments and penthouses, built in blocks of only 4 properties and deigned to take advantage of panoramic views. Most properties are front line golf. Ground floor apartments boast large terraces and gardens, whilst the upper levels enjoy dual-aspect views and several terraces. There is also a range of well-priced 2,3 and 4 bed villas at Corvera Golf.
