Chipping Lesson by Lee Findley - CGA Qualified Coach

Is chipping really that difficult the answer is very simple NO its not difficult, its actually very easy!

First of all lets think of different sports that can give us the correct feeling for achieving the correct chipping set up and swing.Watch a professional chip and see if you can copy his movement, watch a Pro chip a few time and before you try yourself first of all close your eyes and try to emagine that movement first. To help you with the feelings you should have look at the following sports green bowling, snooker, cricket.

Ok so you have seen the professional play a chip so you have a picture of the correct movements of  what it should look like, so what should it feel like!So we will start with the green bowler look at the position of the bowler at the moment he releases the ball his weight is forward on his left foot, slightly open stance simular to the Pro chipping.

Now look at the stroke from a snooker player the cue moves back and forward in a straight line the back swing slightly short than the follow throu the power of the shot being control by the length of the stroke again the same movement of the Pro swinging the golf club, and now the position of the club face swinging throu the ball compare that with our cricketer look how he keeps the bat square at all time again the Pro golfer when chipping also repeats the same movement.

So try the following and see how easy chipping really is!
