‘HOW to Focus for Golf’ with Steven Orr and Colin Cromack
Steven Orr and Colin Cromack are delighted to present a 1 day golf workshop comprising of unique golf psychology theory and its practical application out on the range. You will learn HOW to focus for golf and build robust mental routines for competition.
Concentrate. Focus. Stay Present. Words easily and often spoken. Target Oriented Golf explains HOW we humans focus and will teach you HOW and WHERE you can focus your mind to play your best golf. Is your focus on what you are looking at or what you are thinking about as you swing? Is there a difference? Which has priority? What about during the seconds as you prepare to swing? Anxiety kills performance. You understand the consequence of random thoughts in your golf routines - are you outcome or target oriented? There is a real difference and it critically impacts your ability to play golf consistently.
Irrespective of your technical ability, every golfer needs to understand the art of attentional focus for it often lies at the heart of your inconsistent performances today. Erroneous thoughts in competition destroy those great golf swings practiced on the range by altering your physiology and destroying your ability to focus. You will learn how to develop simple and repeatable pre and post shot MENTAL routines which can be used for every golf shot on the course. Switch Focus On. Switch Focus Off. Repeat. The Assessing, Planning and Practice phases of your pre-shot routines will vary dependent on the shot to be played. The Execution phase can be identical for ALL shots, from the first tee to the last putting green. The simplicity and clarity of target orientation will give you the confidence to perform at new levels.
Colin will explain in detail what attentional focus is and how to achieve it consistently for golf. Some call it the performance Zone but do not understand how they got there or why they leave it so quickly! You will discover an understanding and awareness of your CONSCIOUS mind and how to use it out on the golf course. It is how you CHOOSE to think which determines the reality you experience on and off the golf course. Let us help you make the right choices under pressure.
There is a lot to understand about the WHY in order to consistently apply the HOW of target orientation. Comprehensive theory will be discussed in the morning sessions and demonstrations and opportunity to apply the theory on range in the afternoon sessions with Steven and Colin. You will leave this unique golf coaching workshop with practical pre, transition and post shot MENTAL routines demonstrating where, when, why and how to guide your conscious mind throughout keeping you relaxed, concentrated and target oriented on course.
